Try Out IBM’s Innovation Assessment Tool

I found this cool innovation self-diagnostic at the IBM website that lets you assess your company’s innovation level against the results of their Global CEO Study 2006. It’s a nice strategic innovation tool that gives goals and objectives for instituting an effective innovation program in your company.

It lets you assess your company in several key areas:

  • Company innovation agenda
  • Innovation leadership
  • Change management
  • Creativity climate
  • Idea generation capabilities
  • Innovation incubation structures
  • Innovation metrics
  • Use of collaboration
  • Integration of business and technology

Based on your responses, it assesses you on a scale of 1 to 5 and compares your score to result of the Global CEO Study 2006.

Finally, it gives you strategic guidelines for improving your innovation agenda, leadership, collaboration, and business and technology integration. But just from the wording of the questions you can fashion a set of goals and objectives - the optimum situation is always Answer #5.

You can also get a copy of their Global CEO Strategy 2006 from the tool. Highly recommended.
